Did you hear about the blogger being sued by a local restaurant because of his comments (on his blog) re: said restaurant? Hmm... So there goes our freedom of speech or in this case, freedom to write. Anything you say and write can be used against you in a court of law. I think, we Malaysians, particularly are quite bad at accepting criticism. Most people automatically think it is a form of attack, whereby it could actually be used to better ourselves, our conditions or what we do.
So I guess, be careful what you write. Who knows which sourpuss is reading it somewhere and taking it (too) seriously. I guess if you were to write your comments, be sparring and considerate in your use of words. A blogger friend said that if a restaurant or other establishment gave really bad service she would rather not write about them at all and not give them that acknowledgement at all. Guess she has a point.
Some say that if the restaurant wins in their case, it's going to be like a landmark case that is going to affect bloggers all around. Haiishh...
